"Danube Parade - two flags, one river"

The “Danube Parade – Two Flags, One River” is a cross-border cultural and symbolic event celebrating unity between Romania and Bulgaria along the Danube.

For one day, the Danube unites two cities, two countries, and thousands of people in a unique experience between Giurgiu and Ruse.

The event is closely tied to the broader spirit of Danube cooperation and celebration, similar to initiatives around Danube Day, which promote environmental awareness and unity among Danube countries .

• Starting at 12:00, DJ & festival vibes on Mocanu Island (near the Friendship Bridge), with no restrictions for Bulgarians skippers and public, thanks to the Schengen area.
• Historic daytime fireworks, from the Friendship Bridge, over a length of 350 meters, will mark the start of the boat parade around 5:15 PM (traffic on the Friendship Bridge will be blocked).
• Fireworks at Giurgiu and Ruse ports between 17:45 - 18:15 approximately, where thousands of people are expected.
• Festival in Ruse Port with a DJ and the famous Bulgarian group "Ostava."
• Parade route: Friendship Bridge → Giurgiu Port → Ruse Port → Mocanu Island

The Danube Parade brings together the communities of Giurgiu and Ruse in a cross-border event dedicated to friendship, collaboration, and celebration of the river that unites us.

The event is organized by the Arpatia Association and the Municipality of Ruse. It is supported by the Giurgiu Municipality.
